Redesign Adds 20 Horsepower

Visit the Detroit Auto Show in January 2016 and you’ll find the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S have packed a little more pop in their giddyup. By redesigning the intake ports, tweaking the fuel injectors and adding a little more fuel pressure, the engineers at Porsche have raised the Turbo’s output from 520 to 540 horsepower. The Turbo S also got a 20 horsepower boost, going up to 580 horses. A new dynamic boost function for the 2017 models also helps reduce turbo lag when you’re upshifting, delivering a more exhilarating driving experience. As you might expect, the times from 0 to 60 miles per hour are now a bit quicker. The Turbo model reaches 60 in just 2.9 seconds, while the Turbo S gets there in 2.8 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 205 mph. Visit Porsche of Tucson next year to try out the new Turbo models.

Exterior Gets Minor Refresh

For 2017, the new 911 lineup has a bit of a different look, with remodeled front and rear bumpers, different headlights and updated 20-inch wheels. Windswept taillights and new exhaust tips round out the exterior changes. The Porsche Stability Management system now has a Sport Mode, which lets you have a little more excitement before the stability control package kicks in and keeps you on the road. Push the “Sport Response” button and you get 20 seconds of hair raising overboost before things settle back down to normal. All Turbo models have parking sensors, LED headlights, a rearview camera and Sport Chrono package as standard equipment. Step up to the Turbo S and you not only get a little more speed, but also get to enjoy 18-way power seats, leather and additional carbon fiber highlights in the cockpit.

Carerra Now Has Turbo Induction

Say goodbye to the old naturally aspirated Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S. Now equipped with a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged engine, both models have gone the way of the Turbo and Turbo S, but at a reduced price. The Carrera engine generates 370 horsepower, while the Carrera S puts out 420 horses, which is about 20 more than previous models. The Carrera goes from 0 to 60 in just 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph, while the Carrera S hits 60 in just 3.7 seconds, with a max speed of 191 mph. Both models now have Porsche Active Suspension Management, to help you get the best handling possible to go with the additional performance. Take a test drive when these new models arrive at Porsche of Tucson to feel the excitement for yourself.
