New 911 Carrera T Delivers Less Weight, More Performance

They say whatever’s old is new again, and that’s the philosophy Porsche is undertaking with the new 911 Carerra T. Based on what many believe is one of the purest Porsche models, the 1968 911 T, the new Carerra T (T stands for Touring) features some performance enhancements that you don’t get on the standard Carerra. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system combines with a lower ride height and shortened gear throw to provide a dynamic driving experience. The new Porsche 911 Carrera T will be arriving at the Porsche of Tucson showroom in March of 2018 with a base price of $102,100.

More Power, Less Weight Equals Better Performance

With a new twin turbo flat-six-cylinder engine that delivers 300 horsepower and exciting 332 pound-feet of torque, the new 911 Carrera T will go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds with a manual transmission. The optional automatic PDK transmission delivers an even faster time using launch control, hitting the 60 mph mark in just 4.0 seconds. The manual Carrera T has a top track speed of 182 mph, while the automatic tops out at 180 mph. The rear side windows and windshield are made out of lightweight glass and the inside door handles are just loops as Porsche engineers left no stone unturned in trying to lighten the load. The new Porsche 911 Carerra T tops out at just 3,142 pounds, making it the lightest entry in the 911 Carrera lineup.

Exterior Built for Beauty and Aerodynamics

Take one look at the new Carrera 911 T and you’ll see that it is unmistakably a Porsche. From the front spoiler lip that’s aerodynamically engineered to provide the best performance and efficiency to the black exhaust tips that are part of the standard sport exhaust system, the flowing design of this 911 is built to cut through the wind. Titanium grey 20-inch wheels complement the agate grey mirrors and louvers of the rear deck lid. Even the signature “911 Carrera T” is agate grey, making it stand out against the available paint colors of Miami blue, white, racing yellow, guards red, black and lava Orange. If you want to go metallic, Porsche offers the options of Carrera white, jet black and GT silver.

Interior Built with the Purist in Mind

When you take your test drive at Porsche of Tucson next March, take a moment to soak in the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into the interior of the Porsche 911 Carrera T. Choose the optional full bucket seats and it will just be you and one special passenger in all your rides, as the rear seats are deleted. Black adjustable seats are set off with yellow contrasting stitching, with the distinctive “911” embroidered in the headrests. Of course, the new 911 Carrera T is outfitted with the latest technology to keep you in touch with the outside world while you’re attacking the corners on some lonely country road.
