Porsche Sets U.S. Sales Record for 2016

New Model Variants Boost Deliveries

With a record 23 variations on models unveiled in 2016, Porsche of North America set a sales record for the year. “Our product offensive continued to thirve with the arrival of 23 new model variants in 2016. As a result, we achieved our seventh consecutive year of increased sales,” said Porsche Cars North America CEO Klaus Zellmer. “I am confident we will see steady growth in 2017 with balanced supply and demand.” The Macan was the real star of 2016 with the compact crossover accounting for almost 4,000 more deliveries than the previous year. “Macan sales accelerated strongly in 2016 with the introduction of new variants. Porsche plug-in hybrid sales were also promising with 2,011 Cayenne S E-hybrid models retailed, a 92 percent increase over 2015,” said Porsche North America COO Joe Lawrence. “In 2017, we look forward to the highly anticipated, all-new Panamera, as well as the first full year of sales for our new 911 and 718 models”. Porsche of Tucson is the place to go in Arizona for the best selection and price of all the new Porsche models.

911 GTS Models Extend Product Line

When Lawrence speaks of the extended model line, he’s including the five new variants of the 911. Although not all will initially be available in North America, look for some combination of a 911 Carrera GTS, 911 4 Carrera GTS with all-wheel drive (both of these come in hard top and retractable roof) and the 911 Targa 4 GTS with all-wheel drive. With more horsepower and dynamic torque, these new models take the thrill of driving a 911 to another level. Macan Changing the Face of Crossover/SUV Ownership

The compact Macan is quickly changing the face of SUV ownership in America, as more and more people are transitioning from their domestic vehicle to the premium Porsche. Starting at just $47,500 for the base model, the Macan delivers a level of sophistication and handling unmatched in its competitors. The base Macan has the bones and premium elements of a Porsche, but if you want something a little quicker you’ll need to step up to the Macan GTS or Macan Turbo. The GTS generates 360 horsepower to achieve the 0-60 mph run in 5 seconds flat. The turbo engine has an additional 40 horses and cuts the 0-60 time to 4.6 seconds. All the Macan models offer phenomenal handling, aided by the Porsche Active Suspension Management system with air suspension.
