The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS breaks the barrier between road-going sports cars and racing cars. It is equipped with the maximum amount of motorsport technology, which is suitable in a street-legal 911 for everyday currently possible. Extensive changes were made to its propulsion, aerodynamics and lightweight performance to an even higher level than the 911 GT3. With extremely fast tested lap times, the new 911 GT3 RS surpasses its predecessors considerably.

Enterprising motorsport know-how is the driving force behind this outstanding performance. The 911 GT3 RS is powered by a 4-liter, 6-cylinder engine developing 500 hp and 338 lb.-ft torque, in combination with a specially designed PDK transmission. The engine has the largest displacement and makes most of any naturally aspirated engine with direct injection of the 911 families. The acceleration of the high-performance sports car climbs from zero to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and hurls through the quarter mile on the track in 11.2 seconds. Functions such as split gas from “paddle to neutral” (comparable to press the clutch with conventional manual gearbox) and speed limitation on the pit speed were adjusted using key from the motorsport. This gives drivers more freedom in terms of driving dynamics, while allowing maximum control and engagement.

The 911 GT3 RS is the vanguard of intelligent vehicle lightweight design. For the first time, the roof is made of magnesium. In addition carbon fiber is used for the engine and trunk lids, and other components of weight saving materials. This makes the RS model to 22 pounds (10 kg) lighter than the 911 GT3. A 30-centimeter recess extends centrally through the CFRP bonnet and magnesium roof. This function is a stylistic reference to the opening at the tailgate of the classic 911 models with air-cooled engines, the two largest lightweight components of the new 911 GT3 RS. Another feature is the unique front wheel arch ventilation slots in the top of the fender. Just like in thoroughbred racing cars, for all you diehard enthusiasts, they increase downforce on the front axle.

The chassis of the 911 GT3 RS is optimized for maximum speed and accuracy. Rear axle steering and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus with fully variable differential lock on the rear axle, increases the vehicle’s agility and dynamism. It also allows for a wider track front and rear, and reduces body roll even further than in the 911 GT3. In addition to the 911 GT3 RS model with the widest tires, the result is more responsive turn-features, sharper steering response and even higher cornering speeds.

The interior design of the 911 GT3 RS will take your breath away. At Porsche of Tucson, we believe this vehicle is simply amazing. The 911 GT3 RS introduces so many new value added features. Check out the spectacular full bucket seats. Based fundamentally on carbon bucket seats out of the 918, the optional Sport Chrono Package offers its integrated timer – Porsche-pass accuracy app for smartphone use. The route Precision app is utilized to automatically be time measured by GPS and log data on a smartphone for many driving parameters such as speed, lateral acceleration and the deceleration, and acceleration in the direction of travel.
