Third Consecutive Year for Top Award

The 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality survey shows that Porsche is the name most associated with quality among American car buyers. This is the third year in a row that the famed performance car company has taken the top spot. The Porsche 911 was ranked first for quality in the midsize premium sporty car division for the fourth consecutive year, while the Boxter and Cayman took the two top spots in the compact premium sporty car category. Porsche Quality Efforts Rewarded by Customers

“The success of Porsche is primarily depending on the satisfaction of our customers,” said Matthias Muller, Chairman of Porsche. “We see these awards as confirmation of our strategy for high quality standards in design, development and production and in continuously offering Porsche customers a unique purchase and ownership experience.” With the Panamera and Cayenne also placing third in their respective categories, this is the first year where the company placed five vehicles in the top three. The J.D. Power survey focuses on problems customers experience during the first 90 days of owning a vehicle. On a scale of 100, Porsche scored 80 points compared to the industry average of 112 points.

Quality Translates into Strong June Sales

Sales are up all across the auto industry, but especially strong with Porsche who sold 28 percent more vehicles around the world in June than a year ago. By delivering 20,831 new cars and SUVs, the company continues on a record-setting pace for the year. The strongest sales bump came in the region covering China, where sales ballooned by 71 percent. Asia Pacific, Africa and the Mideast saw a 65 percent increase, while U.S. sales had a more modest increase at 2.9 percent. Porsche Celebrating 65th Anniversary of U.S. Sales
